Celebrating the career of Catalina Avilés, President of Jonathan Foundation

In commemoration of International Women's Day, it is essential to pay tribute to those who have excelled in social and community life, paving the way for future generations. Catalina Avilés stands as an example of dedication and commitment to the fight for gender equality and the rights of women and the most vulnerable in the country.

A legacy of inspiration

The highly venerable Equinoccial Grand Lodge of Ecuador, through its BRLS Voltaire Lodge, held a warm tribute in Quito on March 11th, recognizing Catalina Avilés at the White Lodge, a recognition that this organization gives each year to women who represent the fight for rights, equality, and inclusion. The event was attended by representatives of the Equinoccial Grand Lodge at the national level and other women attendees representing respected equality, fraternity, and freedom groups.

During the event, the work of our president was highlighted, highlighting how she has been instrumental in defending the rights of more than 9,000 extremely vulnerable individuals during her 24 years in office, especially women, single mothers victims of violence, and elderly women, not only in her local community but also nationally. Her work has focused on empowering other women, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to achieve their goals. Her work has not gone unnoticed, and her legacy lives on in every woman who has been inspired by her example.

A future with greater opportunities

The recognition of Catalina Avilés is not only a tribute to her career, but also a call to continue fighting for a future where gender equity, diversity, and equality are a reality. This Women's Day, it is important to reflect on the achievements made, but also on the challenges that remain. Catalina teaches us that every effort counts and that together, as a society, we can build a more just and equitable environment. Her life and work remind us that activism is not just a matter of words, but of concrete actions that transform lives.

"I am grateful for this tribute to the BRLS Voltaire Lodge, for recognizing in this White Lodge our courage, dreams, effort, empowerment, women's rights, and our struggle to provide equal conditions for the most vulnerable," Catalina stated.
